(Domestic Diva) How Do You Organize Your Lingerie Drawer?

19 Mar

As promised, a few tips for organizing undergarments.
1. Buy drawer dividers and fabric storage boxes to keep everything on its place;
2. Group items by type and occasion: shape wear, sports bras and socks, sexy lingerie;
3. Fold bras one cup into the other;
4. Socks and stockings should have a place its own. Put them in another drawer (I like using zip-seal bags to prevent snagging);
5. Be aware of scented sachet that can stain your undergarments. A good and safe alternative is tuck in an empty bottle of perfume to give it just a hint of scent.

1. Compre divisórias de gavetas (são bem baratinhas) ou caixas de tecido. Cada coisa tem que ficar no seu lugar;
3. Dobre os sutiàs de modo que um bojo fique dentro do outro. Ocupa menos espaco e não deforma;

Expertise isn’t found in books. Certainly time and experience make you more of an expert….but reading books definitely helps!

(Entryway Ideas) Inviting People Into Our Homes and Our Lives

This weekend I had a break on “decluterring and organizing” so I decided to put some thoughts on how better organizing my entryway.

I’ve learned a busy entryway is an invitation for chaos. It’s the first thing guests see when they enter our homes. We should make the entrance welcoming and create a good first impression. I also believe it should set the tone for the rest of the house.

Maybe I want my entryway to make it wow! so painting the hall a fabulous hue is an option. Or should I go for simple and neutral and just add a vase with fresh flowers?

I put down some simple rules to follow.

1. Everything stylishly in its place:

# storage baskets;
# hooks for hats, coat and dog leashes;
# a container assigned to umbrella duty;
# a mirror for last-minute touch-ups;
# designated spaces for charging mobiles;
# trays for dropping keys, mail and sunglasses;

2. Keep on hand things you might need just before leaving or as soon as you step inside home, like sunblock lotions and sanitizing hand gel

3. Be polite, be creative. If you have rules on shoes in the house, let your guests know in a way they do not feel offended

4. Add flowers to your entryway!

(Desperate Housewives) Decluttering and Organizing

11 Jan

This year #1 resolution is: to keep my life organized (thus my home, my closet, my craft studio and my finances). De cluttering is definitely the hardest part. I’m seeking inspiration and support from online communities. Pinterest has plenty of boards with the prettiest ideas!

Before the “how to” comes the “why” . Why do we need an organized home at first place?
I think life has enough chaos of its own and I want to clear out the things that don’t matter to make room for the really important things.

This is the first post of a series “10 days to an organized home”. I really sound like a desperate housewife!

Flores em casa

4 Jul

A loja fica no hiper center Casa Forte, Recife. Mais uma dica pras moças prendadas.
